OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAGEORGE WEIR (President, Founder, Director) lives in Cranberry Twp, Pa and is a retired self-employed consultant with QIS for over 25 years in Quality Systems and Six Sigma problem solving. Previously he worked in the metals industries for nearly 20 years as a metallurgist and process engineer. George spends about 5 weeks a year in Elmina since 2003.

SueboardSUE RON GONZALEZ (Director) is a retired teacher and reading specialist working with special needs children. She lives in San Francisco. She has been to Ghana many times with achievements at libraries and teaching Ghanaian children to write their own books. She also founded the Girls Club and champions education for girls.

Wendy cropWENDY PING (Director) is a retired materials engineer, after 30 yrs working in industrial chemicals & consumer products R&D. She lives in Pleasanton, CA with lots of travel including multiple trips to Elmina. Volunteering has been an important part of her life, serving a number of organizations, in particular Girl Scouts where her passion is teaching backpacking to tweens, teens & adults.

FullSizeRenderMARY ANN BARNETT (Secretary, Director) is a retired high school biology teacher. She has been to Elmina and volunteered for Tomorrow’s Stars helping the biology teacher at Edinaman HS. She lives in Davidson, NC.​​

 

Bruce Headshot (1)BRUCE JACKSON (Treasurer and Director) lives in Shaker Hts, OH and is retired after many years of experience as CFO for Cedar Fair (amusement parks) and audit partner with Arthur Andersen.

Solomon Ewusie: Tomorrow’s Stars Director

SOLOMON EWUSIE (Director and Ghana Site Manager) is an educationist from Elmina, Ghana. He has been with Tomorrow’s Stars since 2007 as a student, librarian, Pay It Forward Leader and now Site Manager for Ghana. He is also Founder and President of Nsoroma Africa Foundation, a Ghana registered and based NGO.

Francis Wiredu: Tomorrow’s Stars Director

FRANCIS WIREDU (Director) is an optometrist from Abirem Essiam, Ghana. It is a farming village about 40 minutes from Elmina. We met Francis at Edinaman, High School at the request of the Headmaster. He has been an honors student at all levels and has a degree in Optometry from Univ Cape Coast. After two years practicing with a clinic in Accra, he has relocated to head the Elmina Eye Clinic. We are glad to have his thoughtful judgement to guide us.
